My letter to the "Glorious Ones."...
by Justice-One ini thought you guys might get a hoot out of this letter that i just mailed..... dear elders (or should i call you glorious ones?).
you can fool some of the people all of the time, and all of the people some of the time, but you can never fool all the people all the time.
and you certainly do not have me fooled anymore.

Why is it considered so wrong to be anti-religious or aggressively atheist?
by nicolaou ini'm not talking about the simple belief that there is no god and that religion is a brake on the development of humanity but the aggressive and vocal campaign to convince others of such?.
what's wrong with that?
why do believers feel so offended when i try to reason with them on the invalidity of their faith and the abusive nature of religious institutions?

Belief in the supernatural is farcical nonsense
I suppose you're right, if that's all you've ever experienced..... how could you say or believe otherwise. However, your experience is not shared by millions of people, including myself. I can not deny what I know. -

Is Jehovah a real dude? (Sort of long)
by millions now living are dead ini don't post here much but this board has helped me through the process of extracting myself from this religion.
i thought i should share an experience that i had.. quick background: 4th of 5 generations of jw's leading back to beginning of the century.
first to leave the religion of all of the relatives and family.

Whoa.... really interesting experience. (I like the way that you write)
It reminded me of a quote from Ephesians:
"For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places."
Having said that, as most people know, when we dream, some of our dreams are symbols. Maybe it's the same with your experience. Have you considered that maybe your fight against "Jehovah" was a metaphor for fighting against the way you were brought up (JWs)? I believe in a Creator, who is positive and full of light (knowledge, peace, etc.).... sounds like you were up against something very negative. I think your story would make a good piece for a magazine.... you'd have to slant it towards whatever publication you are writing for.

Weird experience
by Dawn inthis weekend i was having a discussion with my husband about "listening to that inner voice" - you know, the one that says you should take that risk because you could be a real success, but you talk yourself out of it.
or it tells you not to trust that office mate, but you convince yourself you're being silly, only to get back-stabbed later on.
that "inner voice" that somehow can notice those subtle, unconscious messages that we miss in our conscious state.. i told my husband that i was going to work on listening to that voice - and stop talking myself out of things when i just know it is something i should do - mostly with career decisions and relationships in mind.. after this discussion i head to the grocery store to get some goodies for the football game.

I still hope Japan feels this way 60 years after the U.S. murdered 500,000 of it's citizens in one quick flash of light and radiation...
Your simplistic answer shows your lack of historical knowledge (as well as your age). First of all, we were at War with Japan who, without warning, bombed and killed Americans at Pearl Harbor and started the war.... there was no murder involved. Secondly, do you know how many lives the A-bomb saved by shortening the war. Besides saving tens of thousands of American lives, millions of Japanese and their decendents are alive today because the population wasn't involved in defending the homeland.... as bad as the bomb was, it shortened the War......these are historical facts that has been written about by many scholars. Oh, and by the way.... the Japanese were developing the bomb too. They were getting enriched platonium from Germany, who surrendered before the Japanese. Don't think they wouldn't have used it first if they had their act together. Hawaii would now be New Tokyo and the West Coast of the U.S. wouldn't even be recognized.
